Concerts November 16th and 19th

I’m very proud to present two exciting concerts in the ongoing occasional series “Malcolm leaves his house*.” Both will feature new music by Montreal’s favourite composer, me!

(* I don’t have to go very far though!)

On Saturday, Nov 16th, Ensemble Paramirabo will premiere some new music of mine, along with works by three other young Montreal composers. Thanks to the composers’ collective “Common House” for asking me to participate in this concert.

Then, on Tuesday, Nov 19th, I will be presenting:
-new duos for violin and cello
-five songs for women’s choir and piano,
-a set by my band Harp of the North (I just posted a new song, “Thursday,” and a new recording of “Stop all the Clocks”)

Best of all, both of these concerts will take place at the same wonderful spot, Café Resonance, so you don’t even have to move to attend both! You can just sit there for four days devouring guacamole and banana bread and drinking beer and espresso and hiding under the tables when they close for the night.

Malcolm Sailor announces monthly concert series; World never the same again!

I’m very proud to announce my monthly series at the distinguished Café Resonance beginning November 17th!

I might have been proud to announce it a little sooner if my fervent desire to spend less time on the computer weren’t in conflict with my equally fervent desire to bombard you all with self-promotional spam.

Every third Tuesday of the month (just try to forget that!), I will be presenting music written by yours truly for a wide variety of ensembles, as well as sharing the stage with a few esteemed friends of mine.

This is the schedule for the first three months:

November 19
Duos for Violin and Cello
Songs for six women’s voices and piano performed by Ensemble Ina (led by Sarah Albu)
A set by Harp of the North

December 17
Damon Hankoff’s Out of Sight of Land with arrangements by Isak Goldschneider
Harp of the North perform a brand-new psychodrama opera-musical

January 21
Works for String quartet
Malcolm Sailor Quartet

To whet your appetite for the first show, here are some brief excerpts from the string duos:

New song from Harp of the North

My news section finally goes live!

To celebrate here’s a new track from Harp of the North:

Over the past year I’ve been working on an Opera/Musical/Song-cycle. (Obviously I need to sort out what I am going to call it). This song is an excerpt from it, sung by Sarah Albu. We will be performing it this fall so keep checking this page every five minutes to find out more!
